Why is The Cambs Law Firm different from other personal injury law firms?

We are NOT like firms which advertise heavily with hopes of obtaining large numbers of cases. This mass-marketing approach does nothing more than reduce time and attention better devoted to YOUR case.

We accept a limited number of cases so we may devote the time needed to properly handle each claim. We recognize you have placed your trust and confidence in us. You deserve to have an EXPERIENCED lawyer, not a paralegal or associate, fully investigate and pursue your claim vigorously and promptly -- all the time keeping you informed and involved.

We have litigated hundreds of cases and have earned the reputation of being no stranger to the courtroom. Obtaining prompt settlements for our clients is often due to the fact that our opponents know that our firm prepares its cases quickly, thoroughly and is willing to proceed to the courtroom if the case is not settled.

To compliment our personal injury practice, our firm also concentrates in the areas of planning for the disabled and estate planning, including creation of supplemental needs trusts. Clients who are seriously injured and disabled oftentimes require these services. These matters are the exclusive area of practice of Denise P. Cambs, Esq.

What is important when trying to recover money for your personal injury claim?

If you are injured due to the negligence of another, usually an insurance company claims adjuster will determine whether to pay your claim. Insurance companies have been in business for many years and despite what some lawyer ads say, insurance companies do not get "bullied" into paying based on the idle threats from lawyers. In the real world, the insurance company pays when convinced it should pay!

In deciding whether to settle a claim, the adjuster considers such factors as:

  • Does this lawyer have a track record of proceeding to trial if we don't pay?
  • How long will the lawyer take to work the case up? (Remember, insurance companies make money by holding onto it.)
  • Has liability (fault) been shown?
  • Have damages been proven?

How should my lawyer help?

The job of your personal injury lawyer is to show, by evidence and his commitment to pursue your case, that the insurance company should pay now rather than proceed to suit or trial. Prompt and thorough investigation of your claim does not mean years of delay. Injury claims, unlike wine, do not get better with age. By limiting our case load, we help speed up the claims process without sacrificing results.

Your lawyer should keep you informed and explain what actions are required. A client should not have to call a lawyer to ask, "What is going on with my case?" Your lawyer should be in constant communication with you to advise you of the status of the claim and to answer any questions you might have.
