Denise P. Cambs, Esq. is a 1982 graduate of Fordham University and a 1985 graduate of Pace University School of Law. Denise has practiced in the areas of estate, tax and elder law planning, as well as trust and estate administration, for her entire 24 year legal career. A fellow in in the American College of Trusts & Estates Counsel (ACTEC), Denise is a co-author of the legal treatise entitled "Elder Law and Guardianship in New York State" (West Publishing, 1997), for which she contributed chapters on "Supplemental Needs Trust Drafting & Administration", as well as "Long-Term Care Insurance" and "Estate Planning for the Legal Guardian." Denise also authored a chapter entitled, "Fundamentals of Will Drafting" for the New York State Bar Association's legal treatise entitled "Estate Planning & Will Drafting" (NYSBA, 1998). An active member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association's Trust and Estates sections, Denise is a former Chair of that section's Estate Planning Committee. From 1996-1999, she served as Chair of the Elder Law Section's Committee on Planning for Persons Under Disability, the focus for which was Supplemental Needs Trust planning for disabled individuals. As a former member of the NYSBA Executive Committee, Denise has participated in legislative initiatives which impact tax and estate planning, trust and estate administration and Supplemental Needs Trust planning in New York State. She is therefore able to react and respond on her clients' behalf as new legislation is enacted in these areas. Denise is a frequent author and lecturer for such professional organizations as the New York State Bar Association, the New York State Bankers' Association (Trust Administration School), the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountantss, and the Estate Planning Council of Central New York. Denise frequently contributes estate planning related articles to the Syracuse community newspapers, the Syracuse Business Journal, the New York State Bar Association and other professional publications. She has appeared as a guest panelist on many editions of WCNY's "Financial Fitness" program, as well as WTVH's "Your Money" segment to discuss topics related to estate, tax and disability planning. |
